Absorb medical jargon, fellow travellers.

This book asks its readers to confront their own mortality – the ticking clock of age and the ticking time bomb of what might be unfolding, possibly silently, in their own bodies and their capacity for absorbing medical jargon.

Prevention is better than the cure.

Toronto-born, now Texas-based, physician Dr. Peter Attia has spent much of his career studying. He has a perspective on the art and science of longevity. The book is written about what he’s learned and has been implementing in his own life and for patients in his own medical practice which is exclusively devoted to lengthening life.

The book took a seven-year-long slog to publication.

The data is clear about the impact of exercise on both length and quality of life “than any other intervention we can dream up.”

The significant final sentence in the book review is unambiguously clear about what has a more negative bearing on our health than smoking, having high blood pressure or type 2 diabetes.

The latest science is drawn on to deliver innovative nutritional interventions, techniques for optimizing exercise and sleep and tools for addressing emotional and mental health. These are 3 of the 4 Dimensions of Health – Physical, Emotional, Mental (WHO) – that are fundamental to the Wellness Wheel Model. The Wheel is the foundation in “Wellness: A Question of Balance” and also includes Spiritual Health (WHO) (not synonymous with religion).
